Mathematics
Intent
We aim for our students to be independent learners with intellectual curiosity who have:
- An excellent knowledge of, and the skills to, fully understand and solve a problem rather than recalling a procedure.
- The confidence and opportunity to articulate their reasoning, decisions and thoughts.
- A love of Mathematics, fostered by the development of Mathematical thinking and a view of Mathematics as a rich, creative subject.
- The ability to transfer knowledge, skills and understanding to novel problem-solving opportunities.
- Fluency, supported by strong numerical knowledge and skills.
