Child Development

Intent

Child Development is a course for students who would like to work with children. It focuses on the study of child development in the early years and factors that affect the way children develop. It enables students to explore ways to support children through observation and activity planning.

Child Development and care in early years is also a valuable course for anyone who wants to have a family in the future or who wishes to go further in the caring professions – e.g. children’s nurse, early years teacher, health visitor or if you aspire to work in a playgroup or nursery or other childcare and education career paths.
