🚫 Reminder: Water Guns Not Permitted in School 🚫
With the recent warm weather, we have noticed an increase in students bringing water guns into school. While we completely understand the temptation to cool off, water guns are not allowed on school premises.
We would also like to remind families that any item shaped like a weapon is prohibited in school, regardless of its intended use. This is to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable in the school environment.
Any such items brought into school will be confiscated in line with our school policy.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.

💫 Celebrating the Oxted House Spirit – Share Your Memories! 🏡
The house system at Oxted School has always been a huge part of our identity, both within the school and across the wider Oxted community. Many of you who now have children here once attended Oxted County School yourselves, and will no doubt have fond memories of being part of a house.
I would love to gather those memories together as part of an ongoing project, celebrating the true meaning and impact of the house system, not only for our current students, but for past students too.
If you could spare just a minute of your time, please complete the Microsoft Form below. Responses are completely anonymous and very quick to fill in.

Thank you to @dryveboxuk for coming into school last week and giving our students a fantastic golfing experience ⛳️
Students of all abilities had the opportunity to take some shots on the simulator and received expert guidance from a professional PGA golf coach. It was brilliant to see so many getting involved, learning new skills, and building confidence.
The experience provided valuable learning that will help to boost participation in golf here at Oxted School.

We swapped the classroom for an artist’s easel for the day! 🎨
Our Year 10 and Year 12 Fine Art students enjoyed an inspiring visit to Chartwell House, following in the footsteps of Sir Winston Churchill as we explored his passion for painting.
The day began with a fascinating tour of Churchill’s studio, where we discovered the stories behind many of his artworks, including where and when they were created. Inspired by his artistic journey, we then headed to our workshop venue to meet Luke, an artist and art teacher, who introduced us to the day’s activities and guided us through the creative process.
Throughout the session, students experimented with colour mixing, explored a range of painting techniques, and learned how a simple palette can create an incredible variety of tones and effects. With creativity, encouragement and artistic flair on full display, every student produced their own unique piece of artwork by the end of the day.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding experience for both students and staff. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Claire Vincent, the artist, and the Churchill Family Foundation for sponsoring this fantastic workshop and, of course, to Jock “the cat” for making us feel so welcome, even if the weather didn’t! ☔🐾

Even when young people are not legally old enough to gamble, they may still encounter betting messages through adverts, influencers, tipsters, friends or adult accounts.
Our latest #WakeUpWednesday guide highlights key risks, including:
• Easy online access
• Gambling becoming normalised around sport
• Peer and influencer pressure
• Free bet offers
• Impulsive spending and chasing losses
It also offers practical advice for parents, carers and educators on starting calm conversations, setting safer digital boundaries, spotting warning signs and finding support.
