Drama & Theatre Studies
Intent
Drama is about developing our students’ imagination, creativity, confidence, clarity of communication and understanding of the world around them.
Through acting and improvisation; devising, performance and careful evaluation of their own and others’ work, students also develop their powers of critical analysis and aesthetic judgment.
We have a rich and varied GCSE curriculum that will inspire students to create imaginative work as well as teach students key life skills. Drama builds confidence, promotes self-esteem, and develops communication and public speaking skills, all in a supportive environment. Students will develop their skills as a performer and/or designers. They will work closely with peers working as a team and no two lessons are ever the same. It is fast-paced and energetic. If you have a passion for Drama and a love of films, TV and theatre, then Drama GCSE is for you!
Theatre Studies
The study of theatre engages students in exploring the world from multiple perspectives. It also develops artistic skills and cultivates their capacities for collaboration, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and effective communication.
