What will students study at Key Stage 4?
Year 10: Applied anatomy/physiology, movement analysis and training principles are taught with practical performance across selected activities. Students begin performance analysis using data/video to set improvement targets.
Year 11: Sports psychology, socio‑cultural influences and health/fitness/wellbeing are studied. Learners complete NEA (performance in three activities plus analysis/evaluation) and practice data‑driven exam responses.
What do assessments test?
- AO1/AO2: Knowledge and application across anatomy/physiology, training, psychology and socio‑cultural influences
- AO3: Analysis/evaluation including performance analysis and improvement (NEA)
What are the expectations of my child in this subject?
Bring full equipment, participate actively, complete homework on time, and use retrieval practice and past questions regularly. Keep notes organised and act on feedback promptly.
What should my child do if they feel they are struggling in this subject?
