What will students study at Key Stage 4?

Year 10: Students strengthen communication around personal, local and school life and technology/leisure, consolidating present, perfect/preterit and near‑future tenses. Translation/dictation and speaking photocard/role‑play routines feature weekly.

Year 11: Themes extend to holidays, social/global issues and post‑16 plans/careers. Students use more complex structures and justifications and practice extended speaking/writing; exam drills rotate all four skills for fluency and accuracy.

What do assessments test?

  • AO1 Listening
  • AO2 Speaking
  • AO3 Reading
  • AO4 Writing (including translation and extended writing)

What are the expectations of my child in this subject?
