Uniform at Oxted

Uniform Explanation
Compulsory Blazer
Compulsory black blazer with breast pocket and Oxted School badge*
Blazers are compulsory for all students and must be worn during the Autumn and Spring term, including the journey to and from school
Skirts & Trousers
Plain black stitch down box pleat skirt OR plain black tailored trousers
The skirt or tailored trousers are compulsory for all students in Year 7 to Year 11.
Skirts must not be rolled up. Students will be challenged on the length of their skirt.
Black trousers must be tailored business style and full length. They should not be denim, should not have studded pockets and should not be tight fitting, leggings or skinny jeans
Shirts & Jumpers
Plain white shirt
The top button of shirts must be always fastened and must be tucked into the skirt or trousers
Black V-necked jumper (optional) and Oxted School badge*
V-necked jumpers are optional, if worn, must have the school badge sewn on them. No crew-neck sweaters or hoodies are allowed
Ties & Year Lanyard
House tie* and Year Lanyard
The tie must sit against the top button of the shirt. Year group lanyard must be worn at all times
Socks, Tights & Shoes
Plain black socks only, or plain opaque black or skin-coloured tights
No fluffy socks or leg warmers allowed. Coloured socks should not be worn over tights
Footwear must be completely black, shoes should be leather or similar which can be polished
No boots or canvas boots will be accepted. Wearing fabric trainers will not be accepted

Coats & Outerwear
A plain dark coloured topcoat for wearing outdoors
Outdoor coats must be in a dark colour (black, brown or navy blue).
Coats, scarves and gloves must be removed inside the school buildings
Hoodies, leather or denim jackets are not permitted and if worn will be confiscated
This also applies to baseball caps or any other hat
Physical Education Uniform
ALL STUDENTS

Black Oxted School polo shirt *
Compulsory black Oxted School polo shirt to be worn for PE at all times
Black Oxted School shorts or black Oxted School 2-in-1 shorts (optional)
Branded shorts are optional or plain black shorts are acceptable
Black Oxted School quarter zip-up jacket (optional) or black/red Oxted School hoodie (optional). No other jacket or hoodie is allowed
Black Oxted School tracksuit bottoms (optional) or black Oxted School leggings (optional)
Branded tracksuit bottoms or leggings are optional or plain black tracksuit bottoms or leggings are acceptable
Laced training shoes
Additional equipment:
- Football/rugby boots
- Knee length black socks
- Gumshield for hockey and rugby
- Shin pads for football and hockey
NOTE:
- All jewellery must be removed for all PE lessons. Taping is not permitted
- Students must provide a note from parents/carers if they are unable to participate in physical activity
- Students will still be expected to engage in and participate in the lesson in some form
Jewellery/Headwear/Hair/Makeup
Jewellery – one single stud in each ear to be worn
Ear stretchers are not permitted
Rings, necklaces or bracelets are not permitted
Facial piercings are not permitted
Students will be asked to remove items that are not permitted; these will be handed back at end of half term
Hair should be of natural colour
No patterns or shapes cut in the hair or eyebrows
Long hair must be tied back for certain workshop/drama/laboratory/PE activities
Beads are not permitted
Extremes of fashion in hairstyles are not suitable for school
Lipstick, eye make-up and/or false eyelashes are not permitted
Coloured nail varnish, acrylic or gel nails are not permitted
Students will be told to remove make up and nail varnish.
