Welcome
Founded in 1929, Oxted School is deeply rooted in its community, combining over 90 years of tradition with a forward‑looking approach to education and a vibrant, engaging classroom experience. Our students consistently tell us they are proud to be part of Oxted, and we work hard to ensure that pride is well placed.
Oxted is a large school with the atmosphere of a close‑knit community. We believe every young person should feel known, valued and supported, and it is this personalised approach that makes our big school feel small. Strong relationships between staff and students allow every child to grow in confidence and achieve their very best.
We offer an ambitious, broad and challenging curriculum that opens the world for our students. In the classroom, teachers spark curiosity, build independence and develop the resilience and flexibility needed for life beyond school. We also recognise that success takes many forms, and we promote a ‘no limits’ culture where every student can thrive.
Learning at Oxted extends far beyond academic study. Our students benefit from an exceptional range of creative, cultural and sporting opportunities, including outstanding artwork, professional‑standard productions, captivating musical performances and excellent sports facilities. A rich programme of clubs, societies and unique events broadens horizons, and we are proud to be one of the largest Duke of Edinburgh centres in the country.
Care and belonging sit at the heart of school life. Our pastoral system provides the support, guidance and wellbeing provision every student needs to flourish. Alongside this, our vibrant House system builds identity, community and pride. With five Houses, each with its own character and traditions, students enjoy healthy competition, leadership opportunities and shared celebration.
Together, these systems ensure that every child is supported, connected and able to flourish.
By the time they leave us, Oxted students are confident, well‑rounded and community‑minded young adults, intellectually curious, emotionally intelligent and ready to engage with the world. We are incredibly proud of who they are and who they become.
