Fine Art

Intent

Art helps develop a creative mindset, which allows the students to acquire a broader sense of learning. It encourages them to make new connections and relationships through their inventive minds. Students explore the creative process through a variety of ideas and themes and learn to develop and refine their ideas through contextual sources and the world around them.

This exciting course is for students who want to develop their creative skills using a variety of media and explore their ideas visually. They will experiment with different ways of recording, from drawing and painting to sculpture and print, and use contextual influences to inform their work and inspire them. They will study and write about artists’ work and develop ideas. We enable students to work with increasing independence, producing their own responses which have been developed over a period of time. Students must work consistently and take risks with their work and ideas.
