A successful result for Oxted Sixth Form

It has been another positive year for Oxted School students following the publication of this year’s A Level results. Almost half of all results were graded at A*- B with well over 70% of passes at C grade or above. Sophie Eales-White and Megan McGowan were the pick of the bunch with 2 passes at A* and 1 pass at A respectively. Congratulations also go to Nicholas Burns, Dave Clarke, Izzy Conneely, Andrew Kennedy, Gregory Lowy, Jack Roach and James Taylor who achieved 3 passes at grade A including a pass at A*. Well done also to Sarah Barratt, Jamie Blake-Thomas, Imogen Francis, Matthew Jones, Mary McNamara and Hannah Turner who achieved passes in all their subjects at grade A.

Congratulations also to the many students who achieved or exceeded their own targets. As a whole, the ‘Class of 2013’ exceeded their target grade as a year group, which is a fantastic achievement for them.

For the first year, students received their results direct to their home via email but it was great to see so many of them come into school to share their success with their Sixth Form staff and teachers.

Well done also to the many students in Year 12 who have also done well this year. A special mention to Tarkan Bilge and Genevieve Cox who both achieved an impressive 5 passes at AS with grade A. Well done also to Robbie Belok, Sophie Berdugo, Hannah Gauntlett, Zach Sabri, Zach Tait, Ollie Thomas and Alice Williams who all achieved 4 passes at AS with grade A. Many other students achieved 3 passes with grade A and we know they are targeting 3 A grade passes in their A2 examinations next year.

Head of Sixth Form, Adrian Bennett expressed his delight with the achievements of so many of the students and Head teacher, Guy Nelson added: ‘They deserve huge credit for their hard work and determination to achieve these results. I know that a lot of these students will be going on to great things’.

The ‘Class of 2013’ will have the chance to return to school for one more time to celebrate our annual Graduation Ceremony and to receive their much anticipated Yearbook. Graduation will be held in the Main Hall on Thursday 29 August starting at 7.30pm. Guest speaker Tommy Hill, former student and British Motorbike Champion, will be handing out Graduation Certificates and Yearbooks.
