Press Statement from Oxted School

In response to a request for comment on tomorrow’s march and demonstration, Nicola Euridge, Head of School, said:

“Members of the community are of course entitled to express their views through peaceful protest over any issue. The Governors encourage all those that have an interest in this issue to respond to our formal consultation.

“However, the School was made aware that members of a Facebook Group have actively sought to involve students in this demonstration.  The School has a legal duty to protect and ensure the safety of students, facilitating their attendance in school, in lessons and readiness to learn at the start of the school day.

“We recognise that some people have passionate and firmly held views, but we would urge everyone to understand that we are a school, and our first priority must be the welfare of our students and their education.

“For Oxted School, it will be business as usual.”
