Match Report Year 7 Rugby - Saturday 29 November

oxted school v Caterham school
final Score - 5 - 54

On the morning of Saturday 29 November the Year 7 rugby squad set out on a conquest to best the more organised and more aggressive Caterham School. On the coach trip we were buzzing with excitement and anxiousness as we knew this would be a tough game.

Once we arrived we went straight into the game. We under-estimated our opponents and within the first 5 minutes they were ahead by 7 points.   Despite some amazing tackles and runs by Louis Lamb, Michael Thurbin and Jordan Nelson by the halfway mark we were behind.

Immediately, at the beginning of the second half, Oxted’s tempo increased. Before we reached the three-quarter marker we had cut short some amazing runs courtesy to Jacob Wright, Braiden Khoja, Adam Knowles and Arlo Copp. We had also produced some exciting runs at them thanks to a passing move started by Harry Ghost, Luke Cowley sprinted over in the corner.

As a team we can see that there is work to be done if we want to beat teams like Caterham, but we also showed a lot of pride with our performance in the second half.
