Oxted School - GCSE Press Statement – 2014

We are absolutely delighted with this year’s GCSE exam results which are our best ever! Students at the school achieved 72% 5 A* - C grades including English and Maths. We are particularly thrilled with the core subjects: 87% of students secured a C grade or above at English GCSE and 81% of students in Maths GCSE.

We are also extremely pleased with the large number of subjects in which over 80% of students gained a grade C or above these include: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, Business Studies, French, German, Geography, History, ICT, Music, PE, RE. We also had twice the number of students than the national average gaining the English Baccalaureate suite of qualifications.

Twenty-one students achieved at least 8 A* and A grades. Included in these are: Dora Atkinson, Charlie Cowap, Hannah Ephgrave, Alice Field, Theresa Kapunan, James Manson, Xavia McKenzie-Smart, Lauren Mobbs, Lucy Malaihollo-Sheppard, Jack Mulligan, Sarah Norman, Harrison Pearce, Emma Penn, Chloe Phillimore, Hannah Potter, Rebecca Saffery, Holly Sarup, Megan Saunders, Pranita Tamang, Rosamund Van Wyk, Matthew Yates and Alexandra Younger.

Mrs Nicola Euridge, Head of School, said: ‘We are delighted with the huge success of so many students.  This is a reflection of their hard work, the dedication of the staff and highly supportive parents’.

Mr Stuart Milne, Head of Key Stage 4 said: ‘Congratulations to all students for their hard work and dedication in the lead up to the summer’s exams. I know the students are really pleased to see how all this hard work has translated into success!’
