Year 10 District Rounders' Tournament

Every year Oxted School hosts the Year 10 District Rounders’ Tournament and we were delighted to host the annual event on Thursday 15 May 2014.

Teams came from seven other schools and played competitive rounders’ matches in the sunshine on the top field.  Miss Sayadi, Mr Wheatley and Mrs Baydas chaired the score table while Miss Lowes and Miss Newman organised our Oxted A and B teams and umpired the games.

Both teams played extremely well and were excellent ambassadors for the school.

Oxted A team won all their games in the first round, going through to face Dunottar in the semi-final.  They worked hard as a team to win and were thrilled to meet the current title holders Woldingham in the final!  It was an extremely tense and close game but thanks to captain Amy Salisbury’s final hit, Oxted managed to win by a ½ rounder.

The B team also won all their games in their round robin finishing in 1st place!  captain Lois Drummie was instrumental to the victory with her consistently effective bowling technique.
